The Mutual Room

The Mutual Room is a 2,800 sq. ft. facility perfect for banquets, weddings, funeral receptions, anniversary and birthday parties,  vendor shows, meetings, classes, workshops, and seminars.

 

The hall is located on the second floor of the Riverside Exhibition Centre and has big, bright windows overlooking the beautiful Fairgrounds and Grand River. The room is fully accessible via a modern elevator.

 

The Mutual Room features a versatile kitchen space in the adjoining board room. Fully accessible, clean, modern washrooms are located directly adjacent to the Mutual Room.

 

The possibilities are endless in this multi-functional space!

Inclusions

 

Tables & Chairs

The Mutual Room comes equipped with up to thirty 6-foot long rectangular folding tables, up to twenty 60-inch diameter round tables, and up to 160 standard black stacking chairs.

​

Sound System

The Mutual Room has a sound system featuring roof-mounted speakers  suitable for voice announcements, conference presentations, and background/dinner music. The system is not designed for live musical concerts or performances. An easy to operate input panel allows you to use wired or wireless microphones, and an 1/8" stereo jack (aux cord) to connect your laptop, tablet, phone, or iPod. More advanced users or those with complex requirements can request assistance from our recommended local production company: Sound Productions.

Internet Access

The Riverside Exhibition Centre is connected to a state-of-the-art 100% fiber optic network. Enjoy simultaneous 1gbps upload and download speeds via Cat6 wired ethernet connections, or connect to a reliable high-speed WiFi 6 wireless network. Internet access is free for the duration of your event.

Electrical Connections

The Mutual Room is outfitted with standard 20-amp circuits on the perimeter walls. Additional 20-amp circuits are available on retractable lines from the ceilings to facilitate vendor shows.

Clean & Conditioned Air

The Mutual Room features an air-exchange system which constantly mixes fresh, treated air into the facility. The Hall is heated and air conditioned. You will be able to make adjustments +/- 5 degrees to the thermostat during your rental to ensure personal comfort. 

​

Kitchen

The Board Room is connected to the Mutual Room and includes a full kitchen (electric range, microwave, fridge, sinks). Access to the Board Room is included with all Mutual Room rentals. The Mutual Room also has two double-sinks and plenty of counter space along the west wall.

Dishes, Cutlery, Utensils

The Mutual Room and Board Room are stocked with white dinner plates, side plates, cups and saucers. Forks, spoons, and butter knives, cooking/serving utensils, and pots and pans are also included with your rental. You will need to wash and put away any items you use.

The Agricultural Society can provide additional rental items such as: 35mm film projector & screen (+ $50.00), 8mm/Super8mm film projector & screen (+ $50.00), digital projector & screen (+$25.00), digital LED display panels (+$25.00), black pipe-and-drape curtaining (+$3/ft) , podium (FREE), chair covers and tie-backs (+$3/ea), and more. We provide competitive rates on rental items. If we don't have what you need, we can help you to source from one of our rental partners.
