Fair Draw & Quilt Draw
The Caledonia Fair annual 50/50 and Quilt draws are back. Covid-19 may have put the brakes on the running of the Fair in 2020, but not on these two fundraising traditions. With no activity on the Fairgrounds in recent months, the fundraisers are particularly important in 2020, as the Caledonia Agricultural Society have been unable to run other fundraisers this year.
Thanks to the generosity of the Grand River Quilters’ Guild, the Fair is offering up a beautiful 73” x 96” machine sewn quilt, valued at $1,000.00. The quilt was pieced together by Dineke Yoshimoto and sewn by Bernadette Forbes. The Grand River Quilters’ Guild has donated several quilts to the Caledonia Fair for raffle, all in support of the Riverside Exhibition Centre.
The draw for the quilt is scheduled for October 24, 2020, and the winner will be notified by phone and announced over social media.
The 50/50 draw has been a long time staple of the Caledonia Fair. If all 2000 tickets are sold, the winner of the draw will take home $5,000.00. The 50/50 Draw will take place on Sunday October 4, 2020, which would have been the final day of the 2020 Caledonia Fair.
Tickets for both draws are selling for $5.00 each, and will be available after August 4, 2020 from the Caledonia Fair Office or from Caledonia Fair members. All proceeds from both draws will be going to the Caledonia Agricultural Society, the charitable volunteer organization behind the annual Caledonia Fair, and the Riverside Exhibition Centre, the newly renovated multi-purpose facility on the Caledonia Fairgrounds.
