The Grand Hall

The Grand Hall is a 14,000 sq. ft. facility perfect for large banquets, weddings, festivals, theatre performances, dance recitals, stag and doe parties, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences.

 

The hall is accessible from a functional lobby area with multiple entry points from the Fairgrounds and parking lots. A large overhead door at the west end of the building allows for vehicle access for loading into the facility.

 

The Grand Hall also features a robust theatre-production Stage, an attractive mezzanine level accessible from the Hall or the Lobby, a functional bar with walk-in cooler, and a commercial kitchen.

 

The possibilities are endless in this multi-functional space!

Inclusions

 

Tables & Chairs

The Grand Hall comes equipped with up to forty 8-foot long rectangular folding tables, up to ten high-top cocktail tables, and up to 450 standard black stacking chairs. Up to thirty 72-inch diameter round tables are available for an additional fee.

Theatre Production Stage

The Grand Hall features a robust theatre-production stage. The stage is fully accessible for people with disabilities via an enclosed platform lift. Stairs on either side of the stage also provide access. The stage is outfitted with stylish black theatre curtaining including a centre-part grand-curtain, a rear crossover, and portable freestanding legs/wings. The Education Room can be added as a 'green room' with direct access to the stage.

Functional Bar Space

The Grand Hall includes a functional and spacious bar space with a large service window which opens into the space. The Bar includes access to an ice machine and a huge walk-in cooler. A Pepsi Bar Gun featuring seven beverage options can be added for your convenience.

Sound System

The Grand Hall has a comprehensive sound system featuring roof-mounted speakers and subwoofers suitable for voice announcements, conference presentations, theatre productions, and background/dinner music. The system is not designed for live musical concerts or performances. An easy to operate input panel allows you to use wired or wireless microphones, and an 1/8" stereo jack (aux cord) to connect your laptop, tablet, phone, or iPod. More advanced users or those with complex requirements can request assistance from our recommended local production company: Sound Productions.

Internet Access

The Riverside Exhibition Centre is connected to a state-of-the-art 100% fiber optic network. Enjoy simultaneous 1gbps upload and download speeds via Cat6 wired ethernet connections, or connect to a reliable high-speed WiFi 6 wireless network. Internet access is free for the duration of your event.

Digital Lighting Controller

Control the lighting in the Grand Hall using a digital lighting controller allowing you to set lighting patterns and brightness during your event.

Electrical Connections

The Grand Hall is outfitted with standard 20-amp circuits on the perimeter walls and across the Theatre Production Stage. Additional 20-amp circuits are available on retractable lines from the ceilings. A separate, dedicated 200amp service panel provides large productions access to reliable distribution with the support of a certified electrician.

Clean & Conditioned Air

The Grand Hall features an air-exchange system which constantly mixes fresh, treated air into the facility. The Hall is heated and air conditioned. You will be able to make adjustments +/- 5 degrees to the thermostat during your rental to ensure personal comfort.

Extras & Additional Items

 

Kitchen

The Commercial Kitchen is connected to the Grand Hall. It can be added to your Grand Hall rental for $250.00 which includes access to the prep-space, adjoining staff washroom/locker room, and use of two ten-burner gas ranges, a gas convection oven, and two gas stock-pot burners. Pepsi Bar-Gun Soda Fountain

Make it easier and more cost-effective to operate your bar by adding use of our Pepsi Bar-Gun soda fountain. For as low as $175.00, enjoy unlimited pours of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Brisk Iced Tea, Schweppe's Ginger Ale, Brisk Lemonade, Dole Orange Juice, Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice, and Soda water during your rental.

Rental Items

The Agricultural Society can provide additional rental items such as: 35mm film projector & screen (+ $50.00), 8mm/Super8mm film projector & screen (+ $50.00), digital projector & screen (+$25.00), digital LED display panels (+$25.00), black pipe-and-drape curtaining (+$3/ft) , podium (FREE), chair covers and tie-backs (+$3/ea), banquet place settings (plates, cups, cutlery, etc.), and more. We provide competitive rates on rental items. If we don't have what you need, we can help you to source from one of our rental partners.

Showers & Change Rooms

Spacious, clean, modern washroom facilities located off the main lobby are included with your Grand Hall rental. If you require shower facilities or change rooms, a special set of washrooms with entry from the Grand Hall can be added for the duration of your event for $250.00.
